It’s Christmas time! I hope everyone is getting ready to relax for the holidays. I know I am.. Speaking of Christmas – did anyone check out the parade this Friday? If you happened to miss it. Check out the photo of the Mission Horse Club float on our website. The MHC Elves’ did an awesome job of getting it ready and representing the club at the parade.

Rosalie and Margo
Rosalie, our long time past treasurer (I need to butter her up so she’ll still volunteer
and Margo (she’s my new favourite horse but Rosalie won’t let me steal her) competed this season and placed second in their Preliminary Division. Please see the photos here on the website.
Did you and your horse do something cool you want to share with members? Send me your photos and information and I’ll include it in the next newsletter.
Sponsorship
Leslie and Tara are working very hard at getting the sponsorship program together. First thing in the new year they will be looking for sponsorships so, if you know anyone who would like to sponsor or who’s business could benefit, please let us know. You can contact them directly or just reply to this email and I’ll forward it on.
Volunteers
As a non profit club completely staffed with volunteers we are always looking for help (Begging might be a better word here..) This year in particular we will need some volunteers at the shows. Cooks, In and Out Gate, Ring Steward, etc.. For all our shows. Now remember you don’t have to be horsey to help! Be sure to email me(alicia@hyleetraining.com) or reply to this email to let me know we can use you this season or to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
Ideas from the Community
As most of the executive is pretty new to club, we are looking for some ideas of how the club could add value to their members. I would love to here your feedback on what you would like to see the club do in the next year? Some ideas I have heard are dressage shows, clinics etc.. Send me your ideas.
Year End Awards!
We had the year end award night this past month. Lots of people came out to support their club. I believe we had a approx. 40 people at Dakota Joe’s. Everyone loved their prizes. We also had a door prizes that we drew for and Dan St. Amand seems to me won most of them, including the very manly pink polos! Now, I haven’t received any photos from the Year End Awards so if you have some please send them to me! I have posted the winners on the website here. Helen’s note about the year end would be to make sure to attend THREE shows to qualify and complete your VOLUNTEER HOURS or else all your hard work goes to nothing!
And lastly, our next meeting
Is Jan 5th, 7pm @ The Mission Chamber of Commerce upstairs board room– Everyone is welcome!
Cheers,
